New Portugalo Fest Logo
The inspiration behind the development of the logo were the Azulejos (Portuguese tile work) that can be seen throughout Portugal’s rich history. Growing up, my family took every opportunity to teach me about our culture, and some of my fondest memories include my grandparents and mother taking me to various museums and art galleries. I largely attribute my artistic nature today to my family exposing me to such beauty.
The Azulejos throughout Portugal’s history serve as a breathtaking way to tell stories of all kinds, and have stood the test of time. I love the concept of carrying my culture and background with me, and creating something long lasting that future generations can look back on. The Portuguese “Gallo de Barcelos” is a classic symbol used in Portuguese culture, and is a symbol of faith and justice that can be applicable to even modern situations.
I wanted to use iconic symbolism of the Portuguese culture, while maintaining a modern spin and showing tribute to my amazing family, without whom I wouldn’t have the intense love in our beautiful country and see the importance of history and culture.
